Whole House Renovation, Completed 2013
Design and Construction by Rock Paper Hammer
Originally a barn built in the 1840’s, this structure was whimsically converted into a home in 1921 and has many unusual architectural features. The current owners are the second generation of the family that has owned the house since 1980 and they wanted to create more functional kitchen and master bath areas with a modern aesthetic, while still respecting the history of the house. While this project did not involve an addition and only minimal exterior alterations, the interior transformations of the Kitchen area and the Master Bath above it were significant. Though both of these rooms now have a decidedly modern feel, the use of reclaimed materials and fixtures as well as thoughtful design make them fit perfectly into this unique home.
